Shhhh! I’m pretending I’m not here. Today is bath day, so I’m hiding under the couch. They’ll never find me here. This is where I always hide. They always find me, but I still think it’s a good hiding place. I hear the water running. Why do I need a bath anyway? I smell just right. Besides, I just had a bath last month.

You’re a strange little dog, Wally. Most of the wiener dogs I’ve had in my life (or have been acquainted with socially) loved baths. My little red smooth used to come running whenever he heard bath water running, and he would stand , paws on tub rim, looking down at the water, smiling and wagging his tail. Most times , I’d have to tell him, “Nope. Sorry. Human bath” and he’d drop down to the bath mat to and lay there guarding me . But once in awhile I’d tell him, “Yep. It’s for you” and he’d dance in a circle till he was put down into the water. I always thought warm water felt good to dachshunds as it might soothe the stress of that long spine.
My doxies don’t particularly care for baths, either, but they smell sooooo nice when they’re clean!
My little Princess hates the water!!!! Just like Wally!!!! And she smells sooooo good when she comes back from the doggie spa!!!!LOL
